SSC CGL 2025 Selection Process

The SSC CGL selection process was revised two years ago and now consists of a two-tier exam system to shortlist candidates for various Group B and Group C positions. The exam will be conducted in two stages as follows:

Stage 1 – Tier-I (Computer-Based Test – CBT)

  • This is a qualifying exam.
  • Candidates who successfully apply will receive a Roll Number and Admit Card for this test.

Stage 2 – Tier-II (Main Examination – CBT)

  • Paper-I: Mandatory for all applicants.
  • Paper-II: Required only for candidates applying for the Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) post under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.

Important Selection Criteria

  • Candidates are shortlisted for Tier-II based on their Tier-I scores, with category-wise cutoffs.
  • There will be separate cutoffs for:
    • Paper-II of Tier-II (for JSO post).
    • Paper-I of Tier-II (for all other positions).
  • All candidates who qualify Tier-I must appear for Tier-II.
  • Paper-II is only applicable to candidates applying for the JSO post.
