SSC MTS 2025 Important Dates

The SSC has announced all the key dates for the MTS Recruitment 2025 as per the updated exam calendar. The online application process for SSC MTS 2025 will begin on June 26, 2025, and will remain open until July 24, 2025. Candidates can complete their registration on the official website – ssc.gov.in. The computer-based exam is scheduled to be held from September 20 to October 24, 2025.

SSC MTS 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the SSC MTS 2025 examination, candidates must meet three essential eligibility conditions. These criteria are related to the candidate’s nationality, educational qualifications, and age limit. It is important for applicants to understand these basic requirements before submitting their application forms. Let’s go through each of these eligibility conditions in detail below:

Nationality/Citizenship

A candidate is required to be

  1. A citizen of India
  2. Subject of Nepal
  3. Subject of Bhutan
  4. Tibetan Refugee
  5. Person of Indian Origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Afghanistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam.

Age Limit

As per the recruitment rules set by various departments, the age criteria for SSC MTS and Havaldar posts are as follows:

  • For Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Applicants should be at least 18 years old and not more than 25 years of age.

  • For Havaldar Posts: Candidates must be between 18 to 27 years of age.

In addition to the general age limits, relaxation in the upper age limit is provided to candidates from reserved categories as per the norms laid down by the Government of India.

SSC MTS 2025 Exam Pattern

SSC MTS 2025 will be examined in 2 different levels: Paper-1, PET/PST (only for havaldar). Paper 1 is an online exam that is an objective multiple-choice question type. 

The updated exam pattern for SSC MTS Paper 1 was introduced by the Commission last year, and it applies to both MTS and Havaldar posts. The exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) format, and it will consist of two separate sessions – Session-I and Session-II.

Attempting both sessions is compulsory. One key point to note is that there will be no negative marking in Session-I, while in Session-II, 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

SSC MTS Important Questions

The level of the SSC MTS Exam so far is Easy to Moderate level. Based on the previous year’s analysis, the following are some important topics that need to be focussed on by the candidates who are going to appear for the upcoming SSC MTS CBT Exam. There is no change in the syllabus of the SSC MTS exam, so most of the questions will be asked from the following topics this year as asked in past years. 

English Language- Sentence Improvement, Fillers, Error Detection, Idioms/Phrases, Para Jumbles, Antonym/Synonyms, One-word substitution, Cloze Test, Spelling mistakes.

Reasoning- Number Series, Alphabetical Series, Odd One Out, Classification, Syllogism, Direction & Distance, Mirror Image, Hidden Image, Image-based series, Analogy, Order & Ranking, Dictionary, Paper Cutting, Venn Diagram, Coding-Decoding, Dictionary Order. 

Numerical Ability- Number Series, Mensuration, Simplification, Algebra, Time & Work, Percentage, SI-CI, Profit & Loss, Mathematical Operations. 

General Awareness- The major area of focus in this section is from Current Affairs and Static GK. Some article-related, dance form-related, books and authors, awards related questions are also important. 

SSC MTS 2025 Salary

The Staff Selection Commission will hold a competitive examination for recruitment of Multi Tasking Staff in Pay Band-1 (Rs 5200-20200) + Grade Pay Rs 1800, (Revised Pay Scale after 7th CPC: Pay Level in Pay Matrix – Level-1), a General Central Service Group „C‟ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in various Ministries/ Departments/ Offices of the Government of India, in different States/ Union Territories. According to the 7th pay commission, the in-hand SSC MTS salary lies in the range of 18,000/ to 22,000/ per month with a pay band of (Rs.5200 – 20200) depending of the job post and city allocated.
