SSC Stenographer 2025 Eligibility Criteria

10+2 (Senior Secondary) from a recognized school board
– Relaxation to 11th pass for roles like Bandsmen, drivers, etc.
– Sons of serving, retired, deceased police personnel can apply with 11th pass qualification.

– OBC: Up to 3 years

Essential Requirement
Candidate must possess a valid driving license for LMV (Motorcycle or Car) for the post of Const. (Exe.) Male in Delhi Police as on the date of PE&MT. A learner license is not acceptable.

SSC Stenographer 2025 Exam Pattern

Delhi Police (DP) is set to conduct the examination nationwide in a Computer-Based Examination format. The online test, available in both Hindi and English, will cover the following key points:

  1. The Computer-Based Examination (CBE) will comprise a single objective-type paper with 100 questions, each carrying 100 marks. Candidates will have a total of one and a half hours (90 minutes) to complete the Online Computer-Based Test.
  2. For every incorrect answer, there will be a deduction of 0.25 marks from the total score.
  3. The question paper’s difficulty level is aligned with Matriculation standards, with question distribution as follows: Easy Questions – 30%, Medium-Level Questions – 50%, and Difficult Questions – 20%.
  4. Eligibility for shortlisting candidates for the Physical Test will be determined based on the following criteria:
    • General Category: A minimum of 35% marks in the Computer-Based Examination.
    • SC/ST/OBC/EWS Candidates: A minimum of 30% marks in the Computer-Based Examination.
    • Ex-servicemen: A minimum of 25% marks in the Computer-Based Examination.

These criteria will be applied to shortlist candidates by category for participation in the Physical Test.

Reasoning Syllabus

The examination will assess candidates’ logical thinking and analytical skills, focusing primarily on non-verbal questions. This section may encompass inquiries related to analogies, identifying similarities and differences, spatial visualization, understanding spatial orientation, recalling visual information, making distinctions, drawing conclusions from observations, understanding relationship concepts, using numerical reasoning, and classifying figures. It may also include tasks like solving arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, and tackling coding and decoding challenges.

This part of the examination will feature questions that cover various topics related to mathematics. These may involve Number Systems, Calculations involving Whole Numbers, Decimals, and Fractions, as well as the relationships between different numbers. Additionally, it will assess your proficiency in fundamental mathematical operations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. You can also expect questions on percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, interest calculations, profit and loss analysis, discounts, measurements, time and distance calculations, as well as solving problems related to ratios, time, and work, among others.

General Knowledge/Current Affairs Syllabus

The General Knowledge/Current Affairs syllabus aims to assess a candidate’s overall awareness of their surroundings, including knowledge of current events and everyday observations from a scientific perspective, which is expected of any educated individual.

The questions will cover topics related to India and its neighboring countries, with a focus on areas like sports, history, culture, geography, the Indian economy, general politics, the Indian Constitution, scientific research, and more. These questions are designed to be general in nature and do not require specialized knowledge in any particular field.
